There’s almost nothing that he hasn’t done on the site: Category Supervisor, Senior Vandal Patrol, Special Project Assistant, Community Outreach, Mentoring Program Graduate and more than 68,000 contributions. He prides himself on using proper grammar and he loves tea. This intelligent young man from England is one of our top Supervisors who oversees a wide range of categories. He is truly a source of inspiration and knowledge. Check out his bio to learn all about Skullcandy88 and maybe, if we ask, he will share the secret to a perfect cup of tea!

What is your first name?

My first name is Scott.

What is your occupation?

I currently help out my family business with administration, research and technical stuff.

What is your Answers.com username and how did it come about?

My username is Skullcandy88. I’m a big fan of the Skullcandy headphone brand. Then 8 is my favourite number and I was born in the year 1988.

Where in the world do you hail from and what makes this place special?

I came into existence in Essex England. What makes it special? Tea. Lots of tea.

How did you discover Answers.com?

I actually discovered Answers.com by mistake when I mistyped a word in a Google search. The answer given to the question in the search results was wrong, so I signed up to correct it. Then I answered another question, then another, then another – and I ended up staying.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

I would be a penguin because they walk funny.

What is your favorite thing to do on Answers.com?

It greatly depends on the mood I’m in. I enjoy answering astronomy and history questions. While drinking tea. I also spend a lot of time prowling for vandals to pounce on. While drinking tea. It’s really satisfying ending a vandal’s reign of immaturity. Vandals and tea, yum.

What life accomplishments are you proud of?

When I was in high school, we had several deaf students. I helped stamp out discrimination against hearing loss and deafness and raised awareness by encouraging the head teacher to start temporary, short lessons at the school about it. The classes taught students about deafness, its causes and treatments, and what it feels like. They also learned a little bit of sign language. The program was a success. It became a permanent class at the school and has even been adopted by other schools in the country!

What accomplishments on Answers.com are you proud of?

I’m proud of becoming a Supervisor, earning Senior Vandal Patrol status and meeting Xnicola, my girlfriend.

What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you?

Where do I even begin? I was a hit and run victim. I was nearly kidnapped while on holiday in Spain. I nearly died from an electrocution while playing the electric keyboard.

What was the last song you listened to?

One of the most amazingly entertaining songs of all time that also has a brilliant dance routine is of course Gangnam Style by PSY.

What makes you unique?

I don’t discriminate against other people for their race, age, gender, sexuality and so on. I accept people’s religious beliefs – unless they try to force them upon me. Then I unleash a powerful scientific argument in response. I’m a good listener. I like to help others.

Do you view the glass ‘half full’ or ‘half empty’?  Why?

Neither. The glass is always full. The half that isn’t occupied by liquid is full of gas – oxygen and carbon dioxide. A better question would be – why hasn’t the waiter put more liquid in my glass?

What are your special interests, hobbies, or collections?

Tea drinking. Sleeping. Music. Movies. Xnicola. Reading. Writing. Cooking. Driving. Computing.

What is your favorite quote and why?

I actually have two.

Albert Einstein said “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.” Because it’s also true. It basically means that we don’t know really where the universe ends or if it ends at all. But according to past history, humans will continue to act stupidly without end.

Gandhi said “An eye for an eye will make us all blind.” Because it’s true. If you take someone’s eye because they did something bad to you, they can now take your eye in retaliation because you just did something bad to them. Repeat over and over and we’ll all be blind.

Do you have any special talents?

I can make a decent cup of tea, if that counts.

What is one quirky or interesting random fact about you that most people may not know?

I love tea. I hate beer. I wear a hearing aid. I can’t stand bad grammar. I would never marry a woman who has bad grammar. I like animals. I tend to stub my big toe a lot. It’s very difficult to make me mad. I don’t like odd numbers. My favourite colour is green. My favourite restaurant is Nandos.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this interview with Skullcandy. This puts an even better face on an extremely helpful person whom I’d previously only seen as an Englishman with a somewhat zany sense of humour (note I’ve spelled that correctly ! )
I very much like and agree with his commitment to properly spelt English.and greatly admire his story about deaf awareness in High School – WAY TO GO , Skullcandy.. – ‘Normal ‘ people have NO idea how insensitive they can be to those of us who are hearing impaired.
A very nice interview with a great WikiGuide – thanks

  2. skullcandy88, do you like the band enter shikari, a british rock band? just curious how popular they are in EU
