First Name: My first name is Anna.
Occupation: I’m still in my mid-teens. However, I do tutor and babysit. In the future, I would like to be an anesthesiologist.
What is your Answers.com username and how did it come about?
My Answers.com username is AwakeTonight. My two favorite bands are Skillet and TobyMac. Skillet released an album called “Awake” and TobyMac released an album called “Tonight.” The two went on tour together, and the tour was called “AwakeTonight.” The concert was amazing!
Where in the world do you hail from and what makes this place special?
I live on planet Earth, USA, Indiana. As Dorothy says, “There’s no place like home!”
What is your favorite activity on the site? Least favorite?
My favorite activity is working on my Special Project Assistant missions and working in the categories I supervise. I enjoy Answers.com because I love to learn and I love to help others who want to learn. I love the whole purpose of Answers.com: knowledge! I hate seeing vandalism, racist and bigoted answers on the site! Other than that, what’s not to love?
What do you find most challenging as an Answers.com Supervisor?
I think the challenge is to keep up with everything. Answers.com is always growing and has an endless stream of questions. Many of the questions are already answered and just need to be merged.
If you were inviting someone to join Answers.com, what reason(s) would you give them to convince them they would love being a part of our community?
I’d recommend Answers.com to anyone who loves to learn, who loves to give knowledge or advice, or who loves a random fact. It is also a place where you can meet amazing Supervisors and Contributors who go above-and-beyond to make the site an easy place to get information.
What life accomplishments are you proud of?
I am proud of all that I know and am, and of being an honor roll student. I’m proud of always sticking up for my beliefs and for others. As my Dad says, “I have a best friend. It’s me!”
Who is your favorite poet? Favorite poem and why?
I don’t exactly have a favorite poet. My favorite poem, if this would count (it is kind of a quote-in-poem format), would probably be “First They Came” by Martin Niemöller. I’m not really into poetry.
One interesting thing about me is that I enjoy every genre of music from rap to classic to rock to contemporary to worship. However, all of the music has to be clean. I prefer survival stories over romantic-comedies. I can’t stand anything romance-y…with exceptions! I also like history class because you can learn from others and not make similar mistakes.
How do you most enjoy using your creativity and why?
I think I show my creativity best when you sit me in front of a computer. I can make colorful sheets, cards, and other things. I can also take any game (no matter how boring), twist the rules, and make it one of the ‘funnest’ games!
What are your special interests, hobbies, or collections?
I’m interested in the Holocaust. Seeing human beings at their best and worst is amazing to me. I am also interested in the human body. I think it is amazing how your body works. Hobbies include my iTouch, movies, TV, listening to music, reading my Bible, badminton, researching, playing games with my family: Scattergories, Apples to Apples and chess are my favorites! And, of course, Answers.com! I also like watching survival stories with my sisters and then having those “who-could-last-longer-in-the-middle-of-nowhere” debates with them.
What are you most passionate about in your life?
My family and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
What is your favorite quote and why?
I like any quotes by Corrie ten Boom. She’s an amazing woman. I love Yehuda Bauer’s quote “Thou shalt not be a victim, thou shalt not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shalt not be a bystander.” In my opinion, bystanders are about as bad as perpetrators. I also love (it is set as the desktop to my laptop) Irena Sendler’s quote, “I was brought up to believe a person must be rescued when drowning, regardless of religion and nationality.”
Where is one place in the world you would love to visit and why?
Israel! I would love to visit Israel! As a Christian, I think it would be amazing to visit all the places that Jesus walked. I also would like to visit (in Israel) Yad Vashem and a Kosher McDonald’s. Denmark and Sweden would also be on my list.
Any final words about the site? Your role? The community?
Thanks to everyone who helps make Answers.com the best site in the world!
